Today it is referred to as “Thai massage” or “Thai yoga massage”, an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. Using palm pressing and thumb pressing along the meridian pathways, opens the channels unblocking stuck energy, restoring natural fluidity and flow back to the body.
Myofascial release is a treatment helping to release tension in the fascia (connective soft tissue) due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Points of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves and muscles causing chronic pain. Myofascial release massage uses long stretching deep strokes meant to balance tissue and muscle mechanics and improve joint range of motion in order to relieve pain.
Zero Balancing is a manual therapy in which the practitioner applies finger pressure or traction (light fingertip movement) to tense tissue to enable relaxation and reorganisation. Fritz Smith developed Zero Balancing from osteopathy, Rolfing, yoga, and traditional Chinese medicine.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy is similar to Myofascial release, however Trigger Point Therapy uses specific points in the body within the joint area. For example, where the arm meets the shoulder, or ankle meets the leg, although it is not limited to just these points of connection. Trigger Point Therapy can be used while practicing Myofascial release at the same time.
Sports Injury Massage
Sports Injury Massage is a manual therapy modality. This technique helps to stop muscle spasms, increases blood flow, stretches tight tissue and reduces swelling of the joints.
Craniosacral Therapy is a holistic therapy that involves the manipulation of the skull bones. The practitioner gently holds the skull at the base and uses light fingertip motion to release tension.
Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. Pressing on specific areas of the body trigger a restorative connection which in turn allows the body to release and come back to balance.
